Supply of sleepers for the access to the new terminal at Barcelona Airport
The supply of sleepers is part of the work that provides a new railway access to terminals 1 and 2 of the Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat airport, which creates direct commuter services to both terminals from Manresa and Maçanet, with access to the remaining commuter lines and the Barcelona metro network. It also provides shuttle services between the airport and the Madrid-Barcelona-French border high-speed line.
The new double-track route starts on the conventional Barcelona-Vilanova line and runs to T1, with a stop at T2, where it connects with metro line 9. It involves the supply of 13,000 PR-VE type sleepers for a track length of 7,260 metres by the joint venture, of which Traviesas y Prefabricados de Aragón and Travipos are members.
